In 1950 Mr. Angelo Pagliai endowed with tenacious entrepreneurial attitude, laid the foundation of FRIEM. Enhancing experience, reputation and know-how, today the third generation of the shareholders, who wear even the role of managers, is going to organize an industrial group that is intended to evolve with continuity into its own history.
Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR, has recently entered FRIEM’s capital through FITEC, with a minority share.

Fitec
FITEC is a tech growth fund managed by Fondo Italiano d’Investimento SGR,
created on the initiative of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance
and owned by CDP Equity.
It made its first closing in September 2017 with Cassa Depositi e Prestiti as its Cornerstone Investor. Today it manages € 133 million and invests in small and medium-sized innovative Italian tech companies with revenue between € 5 and € 70 million to support their growth, product development and commercial competitiveness

Being one of the 4 worldwide players concerning our sector, the international leadership characterizes the diversification of the leading business. Today in fact, FRIEM Group, throught the affiliated company F&F, provides the market with products and solution for the renewable energies (energy storage). Moreover, with the subsidiary Eyes, serves the sustainable mobility market with EV charging systems and vehicles electrification.

Angelo Pagliai founds FRIEM in Milan. The company, located in Segrate, designs and manufactures high power converters for the electrochemical and mining industry.

The exclusive technological innovation, drives FRIEM towards the leadership in the high current rectifiers market. The company develops its first automatic control and protection system applied to the chemical process.

FRIEM moves its first steps in the rail and urban electrification market, applying to traction substations the technology already used in the chlor-alkali sector.

Proceeding with the technological innovation, FRIEM develops its first power supply for the polysilicon production, basic material for the electronics industry first and for photovoltaic cells then.

Orietta and Marco Pagliai, daughter and son of the founder, are now at the helm of the company. The new path, brings new industrial, commercial and management innovations.

FRIEM is living a massive development and expands and modernize its headquarter in Segrate (factory and offices).

With a huge experience, and thanks to the global attention on sustainable resources, FRIEM, is managed by the founder’s grandsons and launches the industrial plan 2018-21. The company decides to explore the sustainable energy and mobility markets.

Today FRIEM is one of the top worldwide players in the high power converters for the heavy industry. An important energy transition player, holding a central position in the green hydrogen supply chain.

Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP), through CDP Equity – FITEC became shareholder of FRIEM from April (with a minority stake) intended to speed up FRIEM’s growth and investments. CDP is the Italian sovereign fund which invests on companies with high national/strategic interest level.
The green hydrogen challenge needs our commitment
With efficient and modular solutions, FRIEM is the right partner to sustain the hydrogen production through electrolysis. With a central role in the Hydrogen supply chain between the natural resources’ management and the end users, both in the process Power to Gas and Gas to Power.
Today FRIEM
Keeps its headquarters in Segrate (Milan). The industrial area of 11 thousand sqm, hosts more than 100 workers. Moreover, the company counts on workshops and representatives in 27 countries across the 5 continents, beyond two subsidiaries in USA (FRIEM America Inc.), Brasil (FRIEM LATAM Eireli) and a commercial office in Indonesia.
