FRIEM confirms its role as a leader in energy transition

FRIEM, technology provider leader for energy transition, supports the most relevant worldwide projects for the green hydrogen production.

FRIEM, since 1950, manufactures power rectifiers systems, essential to powerful industrial processes that require high DC current (such as chlorine and derivatives production, extraction and refining of metals and graphitization).

Technology and experience enable the green hydrogen supply chain, in particular the electrolytic production of hydrogen. When it comes from decarbonised processes, hydrogen is considered one of the most promising solutions for the decarbonisation of the so-called “hard to abate” sectors.

Today in fact, the third generation of the shareholders, leads an international group with offices, production sites and representatives in every continent, with subsiadiaries in the USA and Brazil and a sales office in Indonesia. Recently. the Fondo Italiano d’Investimento through FITEC, has entered FRIEM’s capital with a minority share to accelerates growth and investments.

With an active portfolio of over 270MW, amounting to 10M € of order in 2022, FRIEM is the ideal partner to sustain the green hydrogen production on industrial scale. Therefore, the company is at the forefront in the most important international projects, including the first electrolysis plant realized in Brazil, and the most important European project in the Netherlands.

Energy transition and internationalisation are two strategic objectives of the FRIEM business plan. By the next three years, it’s expected to grow in the traditional process industry and green hydrogen, up to reach a production value of about 70M €.
