Rectifier systems for large-scale electrolysis

At FRIEM, we design and manufacture high-quality power supply units (PSUs) to power electrolysers for green hydrogen production. Being robust, efficient and purpose-built, FRIEM PSU pairs with the main electrolytic cells’ technologies (alkaline, PEM and SOEC).

It can be delivered fully equipped with a rectifier transformer, DC no load isolators, a thyristor rectifier, automatic harmonic filters, a heat exchanger, polarisation rectifier, cooling cabinet and control cabinet, a power factor compensation and harmonic filtering system (depending on power quality requirements).

For a minimised footprint and simplified on-site setup, we offer containerised or skid-mounted PSUs, fully assembled and ready for use.

HyDuo Station

It consists of a double conversion step: AC/D via diode/thyristor bridge (12 pulse) and a DC/DC chopper to adapt the DC Output voltage to the load demand.

This solution allows to simultaneously achieve high output currents and excellent performance in terms of both DC ripple to the electrolyser and power quality to the grid.
