Principles and organization

The Pagliai-Carnelli family leads FRIEM group with integrity, ethics and transparency. Orietta Pagliai, daughter of founder Angelo is FRIEM’s President, while the operational management is carried out by Angelo’s grandchildren Lorenzo and Fabrizio Carnelli.

Leading this global industrial group into a new era, the third generation of shareholders has assumed roles of primary managerial responsibility, drawing from its history to foster continuous innovation.

Orietta Pagliai

President

Daughter of FRIEM’s founder Angelo, she holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business. She has been President of FRIEM's BoD since 2004.

Lorenzo Carnelli

Chief Executive Officer

Grandson of the founder holds a bachelor’s degree in electric engineering, he joined FRIEM in 2003 as Commercial Director. Member of the BoD since 2005, in 2017 he has been appointed FRIEM's CEO.

Fabrizio Carnelli

Chief Financial Officer

Grandson of the founder holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and business. He has been appointed FRIEM’s CFO in 2008 and he has been Member of the BoD since 2017.

Claudio Catania Friem

Claudio Catania

FITEC Senior Partner

He worked for the Carlyle Group, Morgan Stanley, Hewlett Packard, he had been member of the boards of directors of Smart - Trust, FRSGlobal, and UC4. He has been a Senior Partner at FITEC and he is a member of the board of Seco, Caronte & Tourist, Cartour, Elco and Ramaer. He has been a member of the Bod of FRIEM since 2022.

Marco Vassallo

FITEC Shareholder

Marco Vassallo is Partner at Fondo Italiano d'Investimento SGR, that he joined in December 2017. Before joining the FITEC team, Marco worked for three years at A.T. Kearney, gaining significant experience at leading Italian and international companies in the retail and TMT sectors, and previously carried out research activities at the University of Cambridge (England), the Max-Planck-Institute (Germany) and PSA-Peugeot Citroen (France). He graduated with honors in Mathematical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano and Ecole Polytechnique in Paris; Marco also holds an MBA "with distinction" from INSEAD.

Pierre Lahutte Friem

Pierre Lahutte

Expert advisor in electric mobility

French, polyglot, he had gained a worldwide experience with growing responsibilities at New Holland, as brand President of Iveco, and with CNH Industrial. He has been member of the Board of Forsee Power, Groupe Berto and Navya. He has been member of the Bod of FRIEM since 2020.

Board advisor, M&A expert

Dino Martinazzoli, Board advisor, M&A expert
He worked at PwC for 35 years, supporting important international customers with M&A operations and with auditing, due diligence and transaction services. Since 2010 he has been partner at Athena Professionisti e Consulenti Associati. He is external Counselor for FRIEM.

Francesco Venturini

Experienced advisor in the renewable energy
Executive with extensive experience, former CEO of Enel Green Power and Enel X, as well as Head of Enel X Global Retail. Graduated in Economics from La Sapienza University and holding an MBA from MIT, Venturini successfully led the global expansion of renewable energy.

Models and structure

Adoption of the Organisational and Management Model

In line with its values and self-control principles, FRIEM SpA adopted a 231 Model, Code of Ethics, and Supervisory Board composition at its Board meeting on March 26, 2021.

FRIEM has also implemented an online platform for reporting misconduct. You can access it here: Whistleblowing Reporting System
